No it doesn’t! It’s a dental composite resin, so basically the same as getting a brace put on your tooth.

Tooth gems last anywhere between 2 to 12 months. Some people even have them for up to 2 years. It really depends on the dental habits of the individual.

No, unfortunately we cannot put them on crowns, veneers, or composite bonding on the tooth you wish to have a gem on.

They usually fall off on their own, however, you can get it removed at your local dentist if need be.

At PIERCED we only use Swarovski, Preciosa and solid gold gems. They are all safe for the mouth and do not tarnish.

PIERCED TOOTH GEM AFTERCARE

Be gentle with your gem and avoid playing with it too much. It might feel a bit strange in your mouth at first, but that sensation will fade with time.

Wait 2 hours before eating after applying the gem. For the next 12 hours, try to eat softer foods on the other side of your mouth. Remember, how you eat can affect how long your gem lasts. You can drink, kiss, and smoke right after application.

Avoid brushing your teeth for 12 hours after getting the gem. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to help your gem stay in place for as long as possible.

Just like saffron-rich foods, red wine, or cigarettes can stain your teeth, they can also stain the dental bond. Keep up with your regular oral hygiene routine to maintain the gem’s appearance.

Our adhesive is dental-grade, similar to what is used for applying braces. If you lose a gem, ask your dentist to remove the bond before reapplying if any residue is still on the tooth.

Tooth gems are completely reversible and can be removed by your dentist with a simple scale and polish. Avoid trying to remove it yourself to ensure the crystal lasts as long as possible. Remember to be mindful of your dental gem for optimal longevity.

If you have any issues or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to PIERCED for assistance.
